Great result today.

Two weeks ago, Adam came into the harwich bar and said "Okay, but how do we stop the 17" Meaning the 17 for Harwich.

Today, I think we were lucky they dropped the ball a couple of time, but one drop goal is a good result.

I too was surprised by the YM result, but then, Mistley are not looking to be a pushover, and November 21st will be a big day for us.

Here is the table.

Eastern Counties 2  Short Format Long Format

Team  P  W  D  L  F  A  Diff  Pts  Adjust
Haverhill & District 5 5  0  0  151  40  111  10  0
Harwich & Dovercourt 5 4  0  1  117  46  71  8  0
Ipswich Y.M. 5 3  0  2  116  62  54  6  0
Mistley 4 3  0  1  46  64  -18  6  0
Hadleigh 5 3  1  1  58  56  2  5  -2
Swaffham 5 2  0  3  95  79  16  4  0
Felixstowe 5 1  1  3  46  188  -142  3  0
Lakenham Hewett 5 1  0  4  88  91  -3  0  -2
Broadland 4 0  0  4  37  68  -31  0  0
Dereham 5 1  0  4  37  97  -60  0  -2

Formats crap, but Mistley have only lost one game. Let's not get too complacent.

Two weeks off and then Broadland at home. Let's make sure we sell it to the public and get lots up ther. The more, the better the revenue for our club.

Here is the link to the tables and result.

Write up on later tonight, if not earlier tomorrow.

Two weeks rest, and I think we need it for our walking wounded and mumped up hooker to get better.

Good stuff guys.

A very pleasing result, if we are all really anylitical about our performances today, thre are some highs and lows. If we look at the lows we got dragged into a bit of a dog fight at times and there were times from 1 to 15 we did not play with our heads up where to give a final pass to push the ball behind the defence and to commit 1 or 2 further players to the breakdown would have made it a simpler game. On the highs the backrow were outstanding on occassions the front row changes gave us another dimension, the backs scoring all the points eas simply great. The support play from the first to final whistle was excellent. To help keep this going forward your attendance at training is a must over the next couple of weeks as we strive to go forward and keep the momentum going. with everyone training we can iron out the glitches.

A major thanks to all the supporters that travelled to a very rainy Dereham your voices are always a most welcome assett.

Tony (Head Coach for the day with a 1 for 1 record)

Another fantastic result but be warned your not unstoppable , the team is only in this position because of the hard work the coaching staff and players have put in . I've played in sides where we've been on a good run only to lose to a team we thought we would beat before we had even kicked off ! Treat every game as a top of the table clash , every team will want to take the haverhill scalp and if you just look at one game at a time and stick to your game plan then this could well turn out to be a great season .

The last two posts are very good and should be read by all players and digested fully.

In my write-up, I do not readily get a chance to say where we missed out. Yesterday, with the space behind their backs, and a full back who never seemed to be in the right place, we never really exploited this. Too often, we ran it back into the forwards for the attritional game, but if it had come out to the threes, I think we would have had 50 points on them.

However, I still think it was a great performance, and only a drop goal against was something to be proud of.

well done lads been reading reports and its brilliant to see rugby taking the back page of the local rag even without a game as last week. keep it up boys the season is looking to be really successful but every game keep steve's words in the back of your mind, have confidence in yourselves and your team mates but dont let that turn to arrogance. love seeing haverhill rugby doing so well especially with an football team not really going anywhere. maybe for the broadlands game some advertising, beer promo's just get people up the club because everybody loves watching a winning team, and you boys are definatly a winning team. great start boys but its only a start come on you can do it this season.

Good words Kieron.

Hope we can see you supporting on the 14th and spreading the word, especially that it is free to come and support.
