Bettsy Stag sevens...

Hi Guys

Some of you may remember Ian Betts, a member of the front row union, who chose to get educated and go to university. Since then, he's getting all grown up and married, and has asked his old team buddies at haverhill to send a team up to his 'Stag do Sevens'. Hats off to Bettsy for such a good idea!

It's on Saturday 25th July, at a Rugby club near Manchester, suggest we drive up early Saturday, register by 12, play all afternoon, enjoy local entertainment and refreshments, get a good nights sleep in the local travelodge and head home on the Sunday afternoon, after lunch.

If you fancy a mini tour, with sevens and a stag do, let me know either with a message below or give me a ring or text - you've all got my number.

Teams will be between 7 and 13 players, and a ref, plus boozy spectators. 8 teams in tournement, all drawn from Bettys varied rugby career.

In the spirit of sillyness, we'll also have a fancy dress theme, as will all other teams - to be decided.

Cheers!

I'm game for that mate, sounds like a good laugh
sexykev

yeah ill come sounds fun and will put a bit of speed in the team.
Jimbo

Would a Choir master be needed?
Bergs

Always need a choirmaster, and any speed, even if it's 0.1 mph, will be good, ta Kev!

Team is growing by the hour, got Raffs too...that's  front row already!
Kaptain Kebab

You said speed kevin not FEED im there mate. At least if kev goes we have someone who can kick hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
flying welshmen

sounds like a gud laugh, put me name down. Very Happy
jester

If your are still looking for a ref, have spoken to Pete 'the (one legged) cat' Lester, and he's game for it as either a ref or as a spectator.
Bergs

Pete 'very veteren' Jester would of course be very welcome, as both ref, and spectator, probably both at the same time.

I think Pete helped young bettsie on his way onto rugby in the first place, so only fitting he's there while he makes the long slow walk into married life and grown-up land!
The Daddy

im in mate

What are we doing about transport, is it a case of get yourself there or are we gonna rent a bus?
Jimbo

From the look of it, a bus might be a good idea.
jester

What exactly is going on, do we have a team yet and can we get some more info about it (costs etc) pls?
Raff

I'm playing Fly half Bergs. As long as i get a good hit on the fat chico and bruise him up for the wedding i'm all good!

Hold my Drink!!!
Bergs

That's cool by me dude, I'll be your wing man at inside centre, so I can both pass you my hip flask between tackles and mop your sweaty brow with a gorgeous silk hankie.

Who's playing wing outside me, I'm hoping they'll be doing the buffet?
steve power

any idea of cost as i might try and get out for betsys stag do
Bergs

I'll ring around in a week or two and get some confirmed numbers, work out best way to get there (probably by mini bus), get hotel prices and let everyone know the score.

Do people want a tour shirt for this, or do they want to keep it cheap as possible?

Cheapest is cars, travelodges and club shirts, other options include tour shirts, t shirts, mini bus and better accomodation...

Let me know!
sexykev

im happy what ever dont want to make it to much work.
Raff

I think club shirts, a premier inn or travel lodge and a mini bus could be the shout Mr B, what do you think?

Then we have an affordable couple of days as though as you know were not a great drinkers!!  Lol
Bergs

Sounds Good.

Sexy Kev, do you have acces to a mini bus? Didn't you sort one before from your mum for the Southwold game? How much was that and can we get it again?

Don't you love the interweb - you can even organise tours on it!
sexykev

it might be best to ask tony hope he sorted it last time i think the prob would be gettin someone that could drive it you have to have a license thats registered through the group that own the van.
Jimbo

It's June now.

Is this something we should meet up about to discuss what / if / how / when etc of logistics and the like?

Good day Saturday. Shame about the rugby.
