Upcoming Social Events

Please see the social page of the main site for details of Social Events for the next few weeks - including New Years Eve.
All the answers can be found there, as long as webby has uploaded the new information before you click the social tab (jim!)

It's in there, but when is the date of new years eve, it says to be decided. People can't wait forever, they need to know these things.

On a serious note, I take it the club will be open Christmas eve?

Date of New Tear's Eve Announced - Nation Shocked

Parliament has been asked to rule on the date of New Years Eve 2007 in light of the confusion caused by factions within the rugby fraternity casting doubt on the timing.

It has been agreed that, contrary to unpopular belief, the evening of December 31st will henceforth, be declared New Years Eve in perpetuity, unless and until members of Haverhill RFC and in particular, the Webmaster, (hereinafter called Webbie) decide to nominate another date of their choosing.

(Webbie, in his many guises, has, throughout the years, been well known and revered for his interpretation of calenders (and collanders) so all members should be prepared for NYE 2008 announcements to throw poor Jimbo into apoplexy.)

So, why change a habit of a lifetime webbie?

Glad you clear up the confusion on the date. Good man.

Interestingly, your reference to collinders. Is it full of holes again? You must watch out.

Thanks Webbie, glad we've cleared up the confusion over NYE and good news that the club is still allowed to make it's own decision over the date of News Year Eve. It must be the only thing left that we don't have to organise online via Rugby First.

To answer your last question Jimbo - well last for that post anyway, no doubt there will be many others! Yes the club will be open Christmas Eve.

Once again we are merely waiting for the EU Social Policy Interference Committee to agree a date for the event that doesn't disadvantage any minority communities. This date will then be sanctioned by the Governments newly created Religious Tolerance Enforcement Unit at which point we can publish our plans.

I've done a bit of research and apparently you can vote for your preferred date online at Politcalcorrectnessgonemad.gov.uk/xmaseve2007

Being a traditonalist I've voted for Monday 24th December for this year but it would help if you can get everyone you know to vote too.

Provisional arrangements so far are to open at or just before 2pm and close at 9pm, give or take the annual Marps & Harry festive begging for "just one more pint".

Hope this helps.
Jimbo

Cheers Chris.

The 24th? Wow, nice to have a change now and again.

As for Harry, he'll be down the gym so you don't have to worry about the late close.

I have voted as well, so that is one more.

See you tomorrow.

Jim
