Who'd be a Back?

Son, in this world there are scrums. And in those scrums you need forwards. Are you willing to do it? As a forward, I have more responsibility than you can possibly fathom.

You use words like "drunk" and "out of shape"; those words are the very backbone of a life I spent drinking and partying in, and you use them as a punchline.

You weep for your wings and centres, and you curse the forwards. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of knowing that the pack, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, wins these games you play.

You want the truth? You can't handle the truth, because deep down in places you don't talk about in your selection meetings, you want me in that scrum; you need me in that scrum.

I neither have the time nor inclination to explain myself to a back who scores under the very blanket of ball retention that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just bought me a beer and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you crawl into that scrum and get dirty. Either way, I don't give a damn who you think is responsible.

Who are u

Jimbo

Who is he?

Thought everyone knows that COTC is Chairman of the Thieving Committee. (COMC is Chris who is Chairman of main committee).

Now, for a guy from SA, there may be some education needed here. People from Liverpool havd a bit of a reputation that they would steal the milk from their baby's bottle if they could make a buck.

So, COTC is of course our Vinny.

Now, as to why, where, who when and what made him post what he did is up for explantion.

Any background to this one VD?
COTC

Just found it on the web and found it particularly moving! It's also a much better excuse for playing in the pack than 'Sorry, you're too fat, ugly and slow for the backs'.
Jimbo

But you are.

You are too fat, old and ugly for the backs though. Laughing Mind you, I suppose that is better than being to fat, old and ugly for the forwards. Embarassed
Bergs

Got it of the Web?!

Surely plagiarism, however honourable the message, shouldn't taint this discussion!

But, saying that, VD is a forward, and he was knocking the big girls blouses, so hip hip hooray for the COTC!

I was quite touched too..think we should learn it by heart for tour!

I am touched to recieve such recognition and plaudit, but hang on!

Plagiarism, Am I'm sure you are aware, is a form of theft and, whilst I agree that we must ensure our forum is not tainted, surely you cannot reprimand me for this act.

What next - stop Jim singing, stop all club sweaties from talking incoherently, stop Jason falling asleep at the bar!

We all have our roles to play, and I am committed to upholding the great
Scouse tradition of re-distribution!
COMC

Who'd have thought?

Talk about people upholding national, regional & positional stereotypes!

The scouser makes excuses for stealing, even though it's only a thought not a hub cap or a giro.

The Bok fails to understand what's going on around him whilst performing admirably on the pitch.

Whilst Jimbo amuses himself pointing out other peoples roles and personality quirks.

Oh and while you're at the Front Row as ever are the voice of reason and a calming influence.

I would have accused COTC of intellectual theft but being a FRB I'm not sure how to spell intellectual and don't want another kicking from Webbie about the English language and use thereof!

Stunning, managed to get another stereotype in, dumb front rowers - better watch out, all this talk of stereos will be getting COTC excited again.

Sorry that was another one
